Sippis in Davenport, with its multiple levels, is a spot to celebrate any milestone

Just a few blocks from the mighty Mississippi River in downtown Davenport is Sippis American Grill and Craft Beer, a great local restaurant that advertises itself as a great place to celebrate just about any kind of of life milestone.

With it's multiple levels of private rooms, you can host just about any kind of event from a birthday, anniversary, or retirement party to a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or co-worker happy hour.

I stopped last year with a group of colleagues and we had our own space on the top floor. That space is even outfitted with a cozy fireplace and large television.

However, there is a bar area, a patio area, and other rooms on all three levels that can accommodate just about any sized party you might be looking to host.

With it's exposed brick and ornate metal ceiling, there's definitely a trendy vibe to the place.

There's an eclectic mix of signs and advertisements lining the walls. Of course, since it's a bar, there's also a lot of beer signs.

Near where we entered, there was a sign boasting that they had the best burgers in town. Given that Davenport is no small city with lots of restaurant competition, that's quite a statement to make.

If you are going to advertise that you have the best burgers in town, I'm going to have to fact check that statement by trying one.

I enjoyed the Drunk'N Steer and while it was not low calorie, it was quite the delicious item. A hearty hunk of hamburger that is grilled and then steamed with beer, covered in bacon and cheese sauce, and then all of that is on a pretzel bun. It came with a little serving of coleslaw and a heaping pile of very crunchy and crispy french fries. I had no complaints. However, if burgers are not your thing, there is a full menu of other scrumptious options to pick from.

They also have a sizable selection of beer and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Obviously, there are a lot of great restaurants to visit and check out in the Quad Cities area but Sippis offers a versatile menu hat can accommodate just about any kind of event. My group was about a dozen people and not only did everyone have a great meal...we also enjoyed prompt and friendly service. It was a great overall experience.

As always, I welcome your suggestions of places to visit and profile whether in Scott County or any of the other 98 counties in Iowa. If you have a good idea or would like to host the Iowa Adventurer, please drop me a note through this site.
